Philmont Scout Ranch

Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico is known for its demanding backpacking treks through mountains, forests, and open plains. Scouts carry all their gear as they hike for days at a time, learning navigation, campsite management, and wilderness safety. The experience builds physical endurance, responsibility, and teamwork while giving Scouts the chance to experience the beauty of the Rocky Mountains.

Northern Tier

Northern Tier focuses on canoeing expeditions through remote lakes and rivers in northern Minnesota and Canada. Scouts paddle long distances, portage their canoes and supplies between waterways, and rely on each other to travel safely and efficiently. This trip teaches perseverance, communication, and survival skills while immersing participants in a true wilderness setting.

Sea Base

Though not technically a high-adventure camp, Sea Base offers ocean-based adventures that include sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and marine conservation activities. Scouts live aboard boats or island bases while learning nautical skills, teamwork, and responsibility on the water. These experiences help build confidence and provide hands-on knowledge about marine environments and stewardship.
